He spent a number of years working in Australia both as a flying Doctor and as a General Practitioner and was appointment Assistant Director of the Western Australian Centre for Remote and Rural Medicine in 1993. During this time in Australia, Ray set up a company called MediVenture, a successful medical services company, which provided a support programme for rural Doctors which he managed for five years.

Dr Paul Carroll – Clinical Director – General Practice
Dr Paul Carroll completed his medical degree at the University of Western Australia in 1992 and after three years at Royal Perth Hospital, he moved to the UK in 1996 where he worked as an SHO and Registrar in the NHS in a variety of hospitals across the UK, until his return to Australia in 2000.
An article in the medical press in Australia alerted him to the opportunity to do GP Locum work in Ireland as part of the newly-launched Locumotion, and he spent four eye-opening months working as a GP Locum in many practices around Ireland in 2001. He combined his GP training programme in Australia with regular trips back to Ireland and joined the Locumotion team in January 2003 as Medical Director as well as being one of the inaugural Doctors at The Well at Beacon Clinic which opened in April 2003.
His experiences in general practice in Australia, and his move back to Ireland full-time in 2006, made him the ideal choice to head up the roll-out of the Centric Health GP Practice network which now has 8 GP practices in operation with a further 8 in advanced planning, and he has combined this role with working as a GP in our practice in Baldoyle. He regularly appears on TV, radio and in magazines dispensing health advice, most recently in a weekly slot on 4FM as well as on the TV3 series “How Healthy Are You?”.
Since early 2010, Paul has also become heavily involved in the recruitment of GPs from Ireland and the UK into Australia on behalf of Locumotion, to help meet the shortage of GPs currently being experienced in Australia.
