Working as a GP Locum in Australia

In order to be eligible to work as a GP Locum in Australia, you must apply directly to the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners who evaluate and register GPs to practice in Australia. 

How to go about registering with an Australian Specialist College and Medical Board

The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners is the professional organisation that focuses on the safety and quality of general practice.

Once registration with the college has been granted you are then able to register with the Medical Board in the State or Territory you wish to work in.

Each State and Territory in Australia has their own Medical Board. In order to practice in one of the States or Territory every doctor needs to be registered with that governing board.

An annual fee is payable for registration each medical board so please visit that medical board which you are thinking of apply to for more information.
