Dr Seamus Engela experience with Locumotion & Ireland
Dr Seamus Engela
My first contact with Locumotion was part of an adventure, seeking a change in the monotony of everyday GP practice. This contact, through Helena Gleeson, was friendly and efficient and in no time was I registered with the Irish Medical Council and on my way to County Limerick to work for six weeks.
Once in Ireland, pleasant and stimulating work circumstances, attractive financial rewards, open and friendly Irish society and fortunate contact with GP colleagues combined to quickly convince me that a long term move to work in Ireland through Locumotion was a good career choice. Discussions with Locumotion were helpful and informative and so, five months later, my family moved to Ireland.
This was eight years ago. During this time we have settled in the South East, found social clubs, church and made friends. The children enjoyed the advantages of excellent education at schools and universities. We quickly integrated into Irish society. We are now Munster rugby supporters, Tipperary hurling fans, members of the local golf club, farming in the Nire valley and involved in various community projects.
All this time I am working on a work permit and in placements as arranged by Locumotion. For eight years, Locumotion has done an excellent job of relieving me of the stress and anxiety associated with these arrangements. I found Locomotion not only efficient and friendly but also very flexible and accommodating to my family’s changing needs over time.
Due to my positive experiences and Locumotion’s excellent support, it is my intention to continue to work in Ireland, contracted with Locumotion, on a long-term basis. I see no reason why I cannot continue to work here on this basis until retirement.
Dr Seamus Engela, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary (Previously Pretoria, South Africa).
