Working as a Radiographer/Sonographer Locum in Australia

In order to be eligible to work as a Radiographer/Sonographer Locum in Australia, you must be a member of The Australian Institute of Radiology (AIR) - www.air.asn.au. The AIR is the governing body who evaluate and register Radiographers/Sonographers to work in Australia.

How to you go about registering with the AIR?

If your qualifications are from outside of Australia, your application and qualifications will be assessed against the Australian standard at the time of qualification by the Overseas qualification panel of the AIR. Qualifications are assessed on a case by case and are not necessarily recognised as being equivalent to the Australian standard. Your post qualification experience and postgraduate education will also be taken into consideration along with evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) completed.

It is important to provide as much detail as possible the help with the assessment of your application to speed up the validation process.

How long does it take?

The assessment of an application may take up to 16 weeks.

Fee
